🧪 A complete professional chemical peel system from Herbal Skin Solutions — built around a dual-acid selection model that lets you match exfoliation chemistry to the client in the chair, not the other way around.

The system's design centers on a critical professional advantage: both a glycolic acid and a mandelic acid peel operate within the same seven-step prep-and-aftercare protocol. Glycolic drives rapid resurfacing and brightening on tolerant skin; mandelic delivers controlled exfoliation with a wider safety margin for sensitive, reactive, or deeper Fitzpatrick types. The shared neutralization, pH-restoration, and post-peel steps mean you're running one protocol — not two.

What separates this from single-peel backbar setups is the integrated Vitamin C serum and Mineral SPF 35 finish: both applied when the stratum corneum is most permeable, maximizing antioxidant delivery and closing the service with mandatory photoprotection in a single workflow.

💡 Addresses acne, hyperpigmentation, dullness, and uneven tone across a broad client range — without swapping systems.

For practices ready to offer a fully controlled, client-adaptable peel service under one protocol.

Benefits

System Benefits

  • Full-Service Chemical Peel in One Kit: The complete seven-step protocol — from pH-normalizing prep through acid application, neutralization, toning, antioxidant serum, and SPF finish — delivers a professionally controlled resurfacing service that no single product in the kit can replicate on its own.
  • Esthetician-Adaptable Acid Selection: Including both a glycolic acid (Pro-Glow 55%) and a mandelic acid (55%) peel within a shared prep-and-aftercare system allows the esthetician to tailor the exfoliation chemistry to each client's skin type and sensitivity level without changing any other protocol step.
  • Enhanced Post-Peel Vitamin C Delivery: Vitamin C applied immediately after acid exfoliation and pH normalization reaches deeper skin layers through the thinned stratum corneum, producing a brighter, more even complexion outcome than the serum would achieve on unpeeled skin.
  • Mandatory Post-Peel Sun Protection: The Mineral SPF 35 Primer closes the service by protecting acutely UV-sensitized skin immediately after the procedure, reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and supporting longer-lasting treatment results.

Professional Prep Solution

  • Even Acid Penetration: Removes sebum, cosmetic residue, and surface lipids while normalizing skin pH so the acid peel contacts the skin uniformly, helping prevent uneven exfoliation depth.

Pro-Glow Peel 55%

  • Accelerated Surface Renewal: Glycolic acid at 55% rapidly breaks down the bonds holding dead skin cells together, delivering a visible resurfacing effect and smoother skin texture after a single professional treatment.
  • Brightening & Pigment Diffusion: By accelerating desquamation and dispersing superficial melanin deposits, glycolic acid visibly reduces the appearance of uneven skin tone and dullness.
  • Acne-Prone Skin Clearing: AHA exfoliation at professional concentration unclogs pores by removing the keratinous plug, reducing the appearance of blemishes and congestion over a treatment course.

Mandelic Acid 55%

  • Controlled Exfoliation for Sensitive Skin: Mandelic acid's larger molecular structure means it penetrates more gradually than glycolic acid, allowing professional exfoliation with a more forgiving contact window — ideal for clients with sensitivity or reactive skin.
  • Acne & Blemish Clearance: Mandelic acid combines AHA exfoliation with antimicrobial properties, helping to clear clogged follicles and reduce the appearance of active blemishes over a treatment course.
  • Hyperpigmentation Reduction: By accelerating surface cell turnover, mandelic acid helps fade the appearance of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and uneven tone, particularly in deeper skin tones where gentler penetration reduces post-peel discoloration risk.

Neutralizer Solution

  • Controlled Peel Endpoint: Rapidly neutralizes residual acid on the skin surface, stopping the peel reaction at the esthetician's chosen moment and preventing over-exfoliation or irritation.

Backbar pH Balance Toner

  • Acid Mantle Restoration: Re-establishes the skin's natural slightly acidic pH after neutralization chemistry, supporting barrier recovery and ensuring the skin is in the optimal state to receive the post-peel serum.

Backbar Vitamin C+ Enhancement Serum

  • Enhanced Antioxidant Loading: Applied immediately after peeling when the stratum corneum is thinned, Vitamin C penetrates more readily than on intact skin, maximizing antioxidant delivery and helping protect freshly renewed skin from oxidative stress.
  • Brightening Boost: Vitamin C helps visibly reduce the appearance of uneven pigmentation and dullness on exfoliated skin, complementing the peel's surface renewal for a more luminous complexion outcome.

Mineral SPF Primer 35

  • Immediate Post-Peel UV Protection: Zinc Oxide provides broad-spectrum physical UV protection as the final protocol step, shielding the newly sensitized, exfoliated skin from UV damage that could cause hyperpigmentation or impair recovery.
  • Primer Finish: The primer formulation creates a smooth, light-diffusing base on post-peel skin that evens surface texture and allows for makeup application if desired at end of service.

Active ingredients

Glycolic Acid (Pro-Glow Peel 55%) / Mandelic Acid (Mandelic Acid 55%) — Dual-Acid Exfoliation System: Two complementary professional-grade AHA peel acids — glycolic acid (55%) for maximum resurfacing and mandelic acid (55%) for controlled, sensitivity-adapted exfoliation — together give the esthetician a matched pair of professional exfoliation tools within a single system, each halted and controlled by the shared Neutralizer. The esthetician selects the acid best suited to the client, and the integrated system ensures both options are supported by the same prep, neutralization, and aftercare protocol.Vitamin C Complex — Post-Peel Antioxidant Active: Vitamin C delivered to high-permeability post-peel skin functions as a system-level differentiator: the enhanced absorption window created by the acid peel step maximizes Vitamin C penetration beyond what normal-skin application would achieve, making the serum step integral to the brightening and antioxidant outcome of the full protocol.Zinc Oxide — Mineral SPF 35 Post-Peel Barrier: Mineral UV protection applied as the protocol's closing step; its system-level role is to seal the service by providing mandatory photoprotection to skin that has been rendered acutely UV-sensitive by acid exfoliation — a function that is only relevant in the context of the preceding peel steps.

How to use

Step 1 — Consultation & Patch Test: Confirm client suitability for a chemical peel service. Perform a patch test at least 24–48 hours before first treatment if the client has not received this peel system previously. Review contraindications including active cold sores, recent retinoid use, pregnancy, and known acid sensitivities.

Step 2 — Client Preparation: Cleanse the client's face to remove makeup, sunscreen, and surface debris. Drape and protect the client appropriately. Put on protective gloves before handling any acid solution.

Step 3 — Apply Professional Prep Solution: Saturate a gauze pad or cotton with the Prep Solution and wipe the entire treatment area in firm, even strokes. This removes residual sebum, normalizes surface pH, and ensures uniform acid contact. Allow to dry completely before proceeding.

Step 4 — Acid Selection: Choose the appropriate peel for the client — Pro-Glow Peel 55% (glycolic acid) for resurfacing, brightening, and general age management; Mandelic Acid 55% for sensitive, acne-prone, rosacea-adjacent, or hyperpigmented skin types. Do not apply both acids in the same service.

Step 5 — Peel Application: Using the included glycolic applicators, apply the chosen peel solution evenly across the treatment zone, working quickly and methodically. Avoid eye contour, nostrils, and lip vermilion. Observe the client for frosting, erythema level, and discomfort throughout timed processing.

Step 6 — Monitor and Time Processing: Keep client under continuous observation. Processing time is determined by clinical endpoint (erythema grade, frosting, or sensation) and esthetician assessment — do NOT rely on a fixed timer alone. Have the Neutralizer Solution ready to apply at any point.

Step 7 — Apply Neutralizer Solution: When the desired endpoint is reached (or if client discomfort exceeds tolerance), apply the Neutralizer Solution liberally and immediately over all treated areas using gauze or cotton. Ensure complete coverage. This stops the acid reaction. Allow to sit briefly, then blot gently.

Step 8 — Apply Backbar pH Balance Toner: Apply the pH Balance Toner over the neutralized skin using a saturated cotton pad in gentle sweeping motions. This restores physiological surface pH after the alkaline neutralizer and prepares the skin for optimal serum absorption. Allow to absorb fully.

Step 9 — Apply Backbar Vitamin C+ Enhancement Serum: Dispense 2–4 drops and gently press into the skin across the entire treated area. Do not rub aggressively on freshly peeled skin. Allow to absorb fully before the next step.

Step 10 — Apply Mineral SPF Primer 35: Apply a generous, even layer of the Mineral SPF Primer 35 across the full treatment area as the final service step. This provides essential broad-spectrum UV protection on photosensitized post-peel skin and may double as a finishing primer if the client wishes to apply makeup.

Pro Application Notes

When choosing between the two peels: reserve glycolic acid (Pro-Glow 55%) for clients with Fitzpatrick I–III, no active inflammation, and a tolerance history; default to mandelic acid (55%) for Fitzpatrick IV–VI, sensitivity concerns, active breakouts, or first-time peel clients — mandelic's slower penetration rate provides a wider safety margin. The four included glycolic applicators are designed for single-use acid application; do not double-dip into the peel solution bottle to prevent contamination of remaining product. For retail conversion: recommend take-home Vitamin C and SPF products from the same brand line to extend post-peel antioxidant protection and maintain treatment results between in-clinic visits.
