🧪 A post-extraction spot mask from Christine Valmy built around a dual antimicrobial system — Salicylic Acid and Colloidal Sulfur — designed to disinfect freshly opened pores the moment extractions are complete.

Applied directly to targeted extraction sites, it works within a precisely timed 5-minute contact window: Salicylic Acid penetrates follicle walls to loosen residual congestion and reduce surface bacteria, while Colloidal Sulfur addresses bacteria at the skin surface. Lactic Acid conditions the outer layer to help the actives work more effectively, and Resorcinol reinforces the antimicrobial action by softening surface keratin. Allantoin and Lavender Extract then support a calmer skin appearance as the service closes — so clients leave looking settled, not reactive.

This is a localized, wipe-off treatment for oily and breakout-prone skin — not a full-face mask — which keeps potency where it matters and protects surrounding intact skin.

A natural fit for estheticians whose facial menu includes manual extraction work on acne and oily skin clients.

Benefits

  • Post-Extraction Disinfection: Salicylic Acid and Colloidal Sulfur work together as a dual antimicrobial system to reduce surface bacteria on freshly opened pores after manual extractions, helping minimize the risk of post-service breakouts.
  • Keratolytic Pore Clearing: Salicylic Acid's lipophilic nature allows it to penetrate follicle walls and help loosen residual congestion, while Resorcinol softens surface keratin — together supporting cleaner, less congested pores after extraction.
  • Enhanced Active Delivery: Lactic Acid lightly conditions the outer skin surface, helping the antimicrobial actives work more effectively during the precisely timed 5-minute contact window.
  • Post-Treatment Skin Comfort: Allantoin and Lavender Extract provide a soothing finish that helps the skin appear calmer after the concentrated disinfecting action, supporting a more comfortable post-facial experience for the client.

Active ingredients

Salicylic Acid: A beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that is lipophilic — able to penetrate the follicle lining — making it the primary keratolytic and antimicrobial agent in this mask; it helps loosen pore congestion and reduce surface bacteria within the 5-minute contact window.

Colloidal Sulfur: A finely milled, suspended form of elemental sulfur that acts as a surface antimicrobial and mild keratolytic, directly complementing salicylic acid by targeting bacteria at the skin surface and in freshly opened pores after extractions.

Resorcinol: A phenolic antimicrobial and keratolytic compound that enhances the disinfecting action of salicylic acid by disrupting bacterial cell membranes and softening surface keratin, contributing to the mask's overall effectiveness against surface bacteria on post-extraction skin.

Lactic Acid: An alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) positioned to condition and lightly exfoliate the skin surface, helping other actives work more effectively during the timed 5-minute contact window by smoothing the outer layer of the stratum corneum.

Allantoin: A well-characterized soothing agent derived from the comfrey plant that helps calm the appearance of post-extraction skin, supporting a more comfortable client experience after the active keratolytic and antimicrobial agents have done their work.

Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract: A botanical extract known for its mild skin-soothing properties that, alongside Allantoin, helps support a calmer skin appearance after the intense disinfecting action of the antimicrobial actives during the treatment.

Ingredients

Aqua, Carbomer, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Propanediol, Salicylic Acid, Resorcinol, Lactic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Caprylhydroxamic Acid (and) Propanediol, Glyceryl Caprylate (and) Glyceryl Undecylenate, Colloidal Sulfur, Xanthan Gum, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Allantoin, Phytic Acid

How to use

  1. Perform manual extractions on the client's breakout-prone or oily skin as part of the facial service.
  2. Dispense 1 drop of the Five Minute Mask directly onto the extraction site immediately after completing extractions.
  3. Set a timer for exactly 5 minutes — do not leave the product on the skin beyond this time.
  4. Monitor the client's skin during the 5-minute processing period; do not apply to additional areas not requiring post-extraction treatment.
  5. At the 5-minute mark, remove the product completely using moistened cotton pads with gentle, thorough strokes.
  6. Follow immediately with Christine Valmy Special Crème #11, then complete the service with a finishing mask as the final step.

Timing and Application Precision

The 5-minute limit is a hard safety boundary — exceeding it will cause visible redness, irritation, and possible peeling due to the combined potency of salicylic acid, resorcinol, and colloidal sulfur at active concentrations. Use a dedicated timer for every application; do not rely on estimation. Apply only to specific extraction sites rather than as a full-face mask, both to protect intact skin and to maximize the therapeutic concentration exactly where it is needed. For clients with thinner or more reactive skin (mature skin, post-active-breakout, or sensitized types), a 3-minute contact time may be more appropriate — monitor closely on first use.
