🌿 A professional gel mask for oily and combination skin — built around a kaolin and lactic acid core that clears surface congestion, refines pores, and rebalances skin in a single 15–20 minute treatment.

Kaolin draws out excess sebum while lactic acid lowers surface pH to sharpen absorption of the mask's botanical complex — witch hazel, chamomile, and zinc oxide — working together to visibly tighten pores, calm redness, and normalize oily zones. The formula is oil-free and gel-based, so it sits cleanly on the skin without adding congestion, and it's compatible with high-frequency machine work mid-service for practices that run advanced facial protocols.

What makes this a practical SKU is its chair-side customization range: blend in Valinsta Powder for reactive clients or Yellow Powder for active breakouts, and one mask handles the full oily/combination spectrum. That adaptability keeps your protocol tight and your backbar lean.

Worth a standing place in the oily-skin facial toolkit for estheticians managing varied client presentations.

Benefits

  • Visibly refined pores and mattified surface: Kaolin clay absorbs excess surface oil and sebum during the 15–20 minute treatment, temporarily reducing the appearance of enlarged pores and leaving a visibly cleaner, less oily finish.
  • Enhanced mask penetration via AHA action: Lactic Acid gently loosens the surface layer of dead cells and lowers skin-surface pH, improving the absorption of the mask's botanical actives and supporting a smoother skin texture after removal.
  • Calmed, less reactive appearance: Chamomile Flower Extract and Witch Hazel work together to soothe the look of redness and irritation associated with oily or blemish-prone skin, leaving skin visibly calmer after the treatment.
  • Tightened, astringent pore appearance: Witch Hazel's tannin-rich astringent action temporarily tightens the visible appearance of pores, contributing to a more refined skin surface that clients notice immediately post-treatment.
  • Purified, balanced oily zones: Zinc Oxide provides mild antimicrobial activity at the skin surface that complements the formula's botanical purifying complex, helping to visibly calm and balance blemish-prone and oily areas.
  • Brightened, even-toned complexion: Phytic Acid chelates metal ions and provides mild exfoliating activity that, combined with Lactic Acid, supports a more even and luminous skin appearance after repeated professional treatments.

Active ingredients

Lactic Acid: A mild alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that gently loosens surface dead cells and lowers surface pH, enhancing the penetration of the mask's active botanicals and visibly refining skin texture during the 15–20 minute treatment.

Kaolin: A fine cosmetic clay that physically absorbs excess surface oil and sebum during the treatment contact time, helping to mattify the skin and temporarily reduce the appearance of enlarged pores.

Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract - known as Witch Hazel: A tannin-rich astringent botanical positioned high in the formula that helps tighten the visible appearance of pores and refine skin texture, acting as the primary astringent anchor in the mask's botanical complex.

Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract - known as Chamomile Flower Extract: A calming botanical extract rich in bisabolol and flavonoids that helps soothe the appearance of redness and irritation, counterbalancing the skin-sensitizing potential of the AHA and astringent components in the formula.

Zinc Oxide: A mineral active that provides mild antimicrobial and sebum-regulating properties at the skin surface, working alongside Kaolin to help control excess oil and support a cleaner appearance in blemish-prone areas.

Phytic Acid: A naturally derived chelating and mild exfoliating acid found at the end of the formula that helps brighten uneven skin tone and chelate metal ions that can contribute to oxidative dullness, adding a refining complement to the Lactic Acid AHA system.

How to use

  1. Cleanse and prepare the client's skin using the standard pre-mask protocol before applying Valmask I.
  2. Apply Special Creme #11 to the client's face as a preparatory base layer, as directed in the Christine Valmy protocol.
  3. For clients presenting with extreme redness: combine 1/2 tsp. of Valinsta Powder with Allantoin and Aloe Vera (or water) to form a paste, then blend the paste into the mask before proceeding.
  4. For clients with active breakouts: add 1 tsp. of Yellow Powder to the mask and blend thoroughly before application.
  5. Using a mask brush or spatula, apply a thick, even layer of Valmask I over Special Creme #11, covering all treatment areas of the face.
  6. If incorporating high-frequency machine work, perform the procedure now while the mask is in place, following the device manufacturer's protocol.
  7. Leave the mask on for 15–20 minutes.
  8. Remove the mask thoroughly using moistened cotton pads, working gently across all treated areas.
  9. Mist the client's skin with Valmist I to refresh and tone.
  10. Complete the service by applying a daytime protection lotion appropriate for the client's skin type.

Pro tips for oily and combination skin services

For clients new to AHA-based treatments or with a history of sensitivity, keep the contact time at the lower end of the 15-minute window and monitor for response before building up to 20 minutes in subsequent visits. The optional adjunct powders (Valinsta for redness, Yellow Powder for breakouts) allow this single mask to be customized chair-side to different client presentations — stocking both powders creates a versatile, adaptive facial protocol from a single SKU. The post-mask Valmist I + daytime protection lotion finish is a natural upsell moment: after explaining how the AHA and botanical complex has just refined the client's pores and balanced surface pH, recommend the matching home-care products to extend and maintain results between salon visits.
