Viviscal Pro Thickening Shampoo 8.45 fl. oz. Regular

💇 A scalp-focused thickening shampoo from Viviscal PRO — built specifically for fine and thinning hair clients who need visible body without sacrificing scalp health.

The formula pairs Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein and Hydrolyzed Keratin for cuticle-surface reinforcement, while Polyquaternium-10 deposits a cationic film that adds immediate tactile thickness to each strand. Piroctone Olamine targets scalp microflora imbalances that can contribute to flaking and itching — making this a cleanser that works the scalp, not just the hair. Panthenol and Glycerin keep moisture intact during the wash so clients leave feeling soft, not stripped.

🧪 It fits naturally as the entry point to the full Viviscal PRO regimen — supplement, shampoo, conditioner — giving you a credible retail system anchored to a recognizable professional brand. The scalp-active ingredients reward a brief dwell time, which also creates a natural consultation moment in the service.

Stock it when thinning hair is a recurring concern in your chair and you want a cleaner foundation for every follow-on treatment.

• Balanced cleansing for fine and thinning hair: The combination of an anionic primary surfactant (Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate) with amphoteric (Cocamidopropyl Betaine) and nonionic co-surfactants (glucosides) creates a system that effectively removes oil, product buildup, and environmental debris without over-stripping the scalp's moisture barrier — important for clients whose thinning hair is also often more fragile.
• Visible hair thickening and body: Polyquaternium-10 deposits a cationic film on each strand that increases tactile thickness and reduces flyaway behavior, while Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein fills and reinforces the cuticle surface — together giving fine strands a noticeably fuller feel immediately after washing.
• Surface protein reinforcement: Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein and Hydrolyzed Keratin bind to the cuticle during washing and are partially retained after rinsing, helping to smooth the cuticle surface and temporarily reduce the appearance of breakage and frizz on chemically or thermally stressed hair.
• Scalp microenvironment support: Piroctone Olamine, a recognized scalp-active antimicrobial, targets the scalp microflora imbalances that can contribute to flaking and itching — helping maintain a cleaner scalp environment as the foundation for healthier-looking hair.
• Moisture retention during cleansing: Panthenol and Glycerin work as humectants during the wash, helping to retain moisture at the hair surface and scalp. Clients report softer, more manageable hair after cleansing rather than the dry, stripped feeling associated with harsher shampoo systems.

1. Wet the client's hair thoroughly with warm water.
2. Dispense a small amount of shampoo into the palm — amount varies with hair density and length.
3. Apply to the client's scalp and work through with fingertip massage to emulsify and lift buildup.
4. Distribute the lather through the mid-lengths and ends.
5. Allow the shampoo to sit for 1–2 minutes to support scalp contact of the active ingredients.
6. Rinse thoroughly with warm water until the hair runs clean and no residue remains.
7. For best results, follow with a compatible conditioner or treatment targeted to thinning hair concerns.

Optimizing the service for thinning hair clients

For clients presenting with fine or thinning hair, double-cleansing — a quick first pass to remove surface buildup, followed by a thorough second application with extended massage — ensures the scalp-active Piroctone Olamine has adequate contact time and that protein-deposit ingredients reach a clean, open cuticle surface. This also creates a natural service moment to discuss scalp condition, introduce the Viviscal PRO regimen (supplement + shampoo + conditioner), and position the full take-home retail system. Avoid bundling scalp massage time into the second shampoo pass if the client has a sensitive or reactive scalp — a lighter touch on the second pass is more appropriate.
